I have an ex-girlfriend anecdote, whenever they are around and bugging you, simply be really annoying and make them mad at you, they leave and don't talk to you for a while. Trust me, this really works, and may or may not work for both genders, I only know for a fact that this works for guys. It works for me and I use it on everybody, not just my ex-girlfriend.
