Ugh.. I know. We'll be hearing those darn clevelanders go on about this for years. Why couldnt they just lose and let the city continue to be the mistake on the lake. I cant wait for football season to roll around so the AFC north can stomp them back to their place in life.

By the way how do the NBA playoffs even work? Also how does NBA itself work, cause on our news about a week ago they legit said the NBA season is about to start, but now a 7-game final is over. I presume either I or the news got it wrong.

well, the seaosn I think runs a lot like the hockey season. runs about the same time of year (Oct to June with playoffs). Roughly about 80-some games, then four rounds of best of seven playoffs. And of coures they do the two conference thing (something the NHL kinda got away from but still do for some reason.

So glad Australia's sports aren't so complicated.

I don't know, it really not that terribly confusing. Certainly better than the way yhe premier League runs.

Our main two sports (AFL & NRL) are pretty simple really.

AFL:
Number of teams - 18
Weeks the season lasts - 27 (nearly 7 months)
Number of times a team plays every week - 1 (excluding split bye rounds)
Finals/Playoffs - Week 1 has 5v8 and 6v7 verse in an elimination final (loser is out) while 1v4 and 2v3 verse in qualifying finals for a chance in the final 4. The losers play the winners of the elimination finals. Then the winners of those next games play the teams who won the qualifying finals. Then the winners of these games go into the grand final, where the winner wins.

NRL:
Number of teams - 16
Weeks the season lasts - 30 (7 & 1/2 months)
Number of times a team plays every week - Identical to AFL.
Finals/Playoffs - Identical to AFL.

We have nothing like the premier league, where there's about 1 month break between seasons. Ours have 4-5 months break between them. Also our seasons don't overlap into the next year. It might just be my opinion but our sports are much simpler than others.

and I can understand that matt. I dont know, I dont think america sports are that complicated. They all rely on a number system, so once you start seeing the numbers it makes more sense and is easy to follow.
