Its set in a sort of industrial era style world, the first FF game to not be a medieval-fantasy setting. In the game, magic had disappeared from the world for 1000 years, until one of the main characters, Terra, shows magic abilities. Going further into detail about how she got them might spoil the story. You learn magic by learning them from espers when you equip their magicite, which is a stone espers become when they die. (nothing to do with the FF XII magicite) If you can get the game, I recommend it. It was originally released on SNES (called FF III in the American version for a stupid reason), but it was re-released on the PS1 (in Europe on its own, and in the US as part of FF Anthology), and on GBA. |

Well, some of it is sort of a steam engine style. It's 2D, since it was originally a SNES game (in case you're one of those people who need up to date graphics), but it's excellent IMO. Ebay is where i got VII from, i dont have to have great graphics aslong as the game play is good. Is the characters as small on VI as they are on VII, cos if i keep playing these games im going to need glasses..lol Is there any of the FF games you dont like? |

Heres a bit of what the SNES version looks like. The PS1 version stays somewhat faithful to the original, the only real difference being that the translation is much better. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3MdeoCZRSmA As for FF games I didn't like. FF II is probably my least favourite due to the awful advancement system, but it was the first FF to have a really in depth story. |

Thats the reason I love Lost Odyssey, Sakaguchi's (the creator of FF) new game. Excellent story. And they got an award winning Japanese novelist to contribute to the story. If you have an Xbox 360, I highly recommend it. EDIT: I've you thinkthe start of FF VII has a great story, wait until later. Its so cute!!! (sorry just watching the vid!) i want to get a new console but i have been waiting for enought games to come out that im interested in to make it worth the buy. If PS3 remastered all the old FF games id buy it in a heartbeat |

Well in the UK, it's the only one. They removed a lot from the console along with the memory. Everywhere else though it would count as the lower one. And yeah, it gets more in depth. |
