Well, they clearly put more thaought into the gameplay than they did the story (which, again, i aint gonna spoil, because Dave and Skyline need to play it)

Gameplay: 6/10. It was a good idea, but it feels a bit too automatic sometimes

Story 2/10 Not great at all. FF games shouldnt have great stories, they should have AMAZING stories, but FF XII didnt even seem good

I dont think they're even trying anymore. The story is barely even slightly enjoyable. And the characters hardly interact, so you barely even care about them because they seem soulless. They dont feel like they even like each other, and instead feels like they're only banding together because they have to

Yeah i got the feeling they are only together because they have too, i am at the nam yen sandsea (i think that's what it is called) and to be honest since buying it i have spent more time on ffx then FFXII. Balthier and fran are only doing it for the money and Ashe is only with them as she has no other choice.

With other FF's, you can sense a sort of bond forming with the party members, and they seem to become really good friends. Vaan and Penelo have been friends since they were kids, but only really talk to each other at the early part of the game. The rest of the game they seem to ignore each other. The only person who really seems to have a personality is Balthier, but thats because he has a big ego, and proclaims himself to be the main hero of the story

Yeah it's sad really when you think of all the effort that went into older games like VII and X and X-2 (they aee the only one's i have played so far). VII has an amazing story line (from what i have played of it) and i personally love FFX.

Well i do like all of them (except Mystic Quest, which was really only made purely as an insult to americans. But i havent played it yet). But as you can tell, i like some of them more than others

If you like SNES games, get VI (which was re released on PS1, in Europe on its own, and in the US as FF Anthology), as its one of my favourites

The GBA version apparently has some bonus Espers. I wonder how they worked that out. Did they spread the magic out more, or did they add new magic?

well this topic is dead so lets change the subject a little bit...well we all know the battle system for FF XII was probably the most unique one,but do you think we will see it again in one of the future FF's(if they make one after 13)

The gambit system ruined it. If you want everyone to change their strategy, you have to stop everything, and go to a menu to change everything. Doent seem like fun to me. I prefer being able to control my characters. Instead you end up watching the action most of the time.

This isnt a FF. It has references to FF, but it should never have been called FF XII. More like a spin off

To do that you would have to either turn the speed all the way down, or you'll be scrambling to get the next move. Its a very inconvenient system

Which is why I prefer all the FF's from IV-IX (haven't played I, II or III yet). It actually felt as if you were in control, but, with new gambit and battle system, it does feel really strange.

Take VII for example, it had everything. One of the main characters dies, there's a lot of twists in the story and not to mention the storyline was amazing. There's so much I can write about the game. It even had it's own secret characters.

And, since it's already been mentioned, VI. The storyline is also pretty cool in that, rebels who want to overthrow an imperial dictatorship. Good stuff. And to me, this was the starting point of this great series.
