Heya, I'm new, so I guess I'll post up: I'm HR 5, Got full Rathalos Soul, I switch between: Onslaught Hammer {1092 Atk, Blue sharpness, +6 Def} Smolder Drgnsword {816 Atk, Blue sharpness, 520 Drgn Attrib} Supremacy Blade (just for accomplishment) {960 Atk, Green sharpness} and Devil Slicer {720 Atk, Green sharpness, 450 Thndr} Sometimes I switch to Death Stench for things like Gravios (for the ESP ability, really), but other than that, I really don't have many armor sets. I'm just looking for some helpful sources so I can make these fights a little easier.  That's it for me, really. |

Looking for a capture, eh? It's fairly simple. Before you head out, grab some high-to-decent fire res. armor to defend against his fireball attack and aerial assault. Second, grab a good raw or thunder element weapon (Eager Cleaver will do in a pinch, but Devil Slicer is where it's at). Grab: 5 tranq bombs Shock Trap Trap tool x2 Genprey fang x2 (Just in case the winged a-hole flies off w/o running into the trap. He's a spectacular jerkoff when he does this.) 10 potions 10 megapotions Armortalon Powertalon (If you haven't fought Lao Shan, skip those) Whetstone (blademaster only) Ancient Potion (Get em by combining Catalyst + Dragon Toadstool. They are GODSENDS for elder dragon fighting later on. Especially for a certain chameleon.) Now, whatever tactic you use to fight Rathalos is fine. I leave that to you. Any capable monster hunter should be able to take down an E-rank Rathalos. A G-rank, on the other hand, is a different story. Approach it as you desire. After a while, begin to hang back on your attacks, to see if he limps at all after his attacks. If he limps, back off. Let him fly off and go to his favorite resting spot in the cavern (in F&H.) When he arrives, DO NOT GO IN THE ZONE FOR 3-4 MINUTES SO HE FALLS ASLEEP. While Mr. The Good, The Bad, and The Fugly is snoozin', take out all the little "distractions" around you so you can concentrate for what's next. Once this is done, lay down a shock trap and wake him up. Your method of waking him up is up to you(I prefer to kick 'em by pressing the SELECT button. It does minimal damage, AND gets their attention:evil Once he's awake, he'll usually be ******. So, stand behind the trap (while facing Rathalos, of course) and bait him into charging you. Don't worry, It'll be easy. Just think of him as a bull. A gigantic, red, flying bull that shoots fireballs from his mouth. And has poisonous claws. Once the dunce is in the trap, lob two tranqs on him (the other three are just precautionary, in case you miss) and he'll fall asleep. Congrats! You caught a Rathalos! Smoke 'em if ya got em! The main benefit of capturing a wyvern is a larger reward of parts to sell or beat into armor. Keep one thing in mind for later: YOU CANNOT CAPTURE ELDER DRAGONS. I KNOW. I'VE TRIED. As a side note, every time a Rathalos charges you and you roll/dive out of the way, say "Ole!". It's not necessary, it just makes it more fun.  |

I pick the special mushrooms behind the tree, then I stand on giant mushrooms on front of tree 'till time runs out. But you cannot do it twice in a row, so you have to kill it the 2nd time you go on the mission. |
