Debate thread. ..

There has been a lot of issues about the mother or the father giving up their careers to become full time carers for their children. Some parents believe that this is absolutley vital, some will not give up their careers and will place their children with babysitters. Others argue to whom should be the "breadwinner" stating that its the womans job to stay at home and be the domesticated one.

Discuss....

Umm no that should not happen. Women deserve just as much as us men. They should both work. THATS WHAT NANNIES ARE FOR

There are some that say that the child can grow up resentful if they are left with nannies and end up with a bad relationship with their parents. What do you think about that?

Well the women OBVIOUSLY stay home for the nursing. Also mybe work jobs with not so many days of the week to work
so the child gets more attention.An maybe the days u do work u work late. and have a nannie

I supose it depends purely on where you work. The argument changes pro and con every week. One day its one parent should be at home so the child doesnt feel neglected. The next day its both parents should work to provide finacial securtiy.

When they decide against both parents working, its always the mother who is expected to stay. I see your point about nursing..etc. But its normally packaged into the wife cooking, cleaning, taking care of childreb

hello i have just joined and id like to start off with this... if a baby is left wit a nannie then that means that the parents are probably rich stuck up snobs which the kid will have turned out bad either way; but if both parents work i would suggest one of them working at their childes school until the kid is in about 5th grade

Depends, maybe it is that way in the US, but there are families where both parents work because they have to in order to live, pay the bills and provide for the children. Some use the families to babysit rather than spend money on a nanny.

Sometimes the problem is also the workplace. They dont always take kindly to someone just deciding to take leave for 4yrs just to look after a child then come back when the child is in school

well i think that the parents should do an equal share of babysitting,work,and chores around the house i would love to cook because cooking is my favorite thing to do and some girls like a guy that can cook but i just cook cause i love to

i know that i like a grl that can cook cause all i can really cook is mac 'n' cheese, and ramen noodles,also there is the situation where the mom is *stay at home* n the dad works, but the dad gets hurt n then has to stay home n the mom goes to work for money n since the dad has no frickin clue wat to do horrible things can happen

Uh......... ok...... I don't care... i mean big woop. A NANNIE WILL NOT RUIN Someone. and they don't have to be rich to have a nanny... God........ Besides my mom worksa few says a week and my dad workd 1 whole week then is off for a week
