Fahrenheit 451 Rp

Right, anyway. Fahrenheit 451. It’s a book by Ray Bradbury, and takes place in the world of the future. IN the story, there have been two atomic wars(it was writeen in the fifties, when there was real tension between the USSR and US that may start and atomic war) and a third is on the brink. The government has censored its people of, basically, all individuality. Books, Tv, radio, any form of media is either outlawed or controlled. There is no sadness, no controversy, no nothing. No one can have an opinion, because that would conflict with someone else’s and that would lead to conflict.

So… the government controls it all. Bnooks are outlawed, and if you are found reading a book, the firemen come to youtr house. And they burn it down. If you continue to cause problems, they sound “The Hound” after you. The Hound is a mechanical dog, that hunts by Oprogramming that has your DNA on it. They are nearly silent, and if they catch you, they injext a four inch needle into you. Tranquilizers, narcotics, and pain killers are injected in enough quantity to kill the person. Its all very quick, painless, and most importantly, unnoticed by the general public.

Since any opinions that are different or un-uniform are not allowed, those who believe in reading books for the knowledge are sentenced to death by hound. This is a group I’m going to call “The Scholars” for the rp. They wish to bring back books, and make the woprld how it was. Also, each has memorized either part or a whole book. It can be Shakespeare, a dictionary, anything. Problem is, no one is sure if they want it back the way it was.

Anyway, that’s a sumarry of the story, without giving anything away. If you like science fiction, or Ray Bradbury, I’d recommend it.

Anywho… Here’s what I was thinking for the story. The world is on the brink of the fourth atomic war. For a brief period after what happened in F451, the scholars reigned. It is 175 years later, and the country has fallen back into its old ways. The scholars are ready to uprise again, and the firemen are turned soldiers to meet them, as well as their regular duties. And that is where we will start.

A few quick notes, before the template. This is the future, but it was 1950s future. Which means that most of the technology is kinda similar to what it is. Houses are fireproof,a nd the only way to be burned down is by a Kerosene coupound used by fire fighters. Books are allowed to be Owned, but not Read. Neither side can just call in airstirkes, and things like that. Strictly street warfare on foot, if you want to battle. Also, since the govenrnment wants people to be… “removed” quietly, there are no real guns. Most weapons are the flamethrowers the firemen candle, their axes, and the rifle, but they are limited. And try to remember the mood. The government’s power is teetering, and the ever constant threat of an atomic bombing or outside force coming is real for this. Should help out.

Bio: lived int eh city as a normal citizen. The son of a fireman, grandson of a scholar, his family goes back with the idea of free opinion and reading being legal, but does not fight for it. Has an enormous amount of books in home, but does not ready them. His father the second in command of the local fireman unit/squad.

*Looks up at her, then away. Stands up and starts walking home. sees a fmailiar face.* What were you doing, arroy?
Nothing, why?
Person: Becuase, that's just it. sitting htere, staring?
Its nothing. I was just... thinking about a tv plot.
P: oH, okay. that'sa good boy. Wouldn't want to see you getting hunted by the hounds.
Yeah, me niether. *Sees one following his path.* I hate it.

*walks to a store*

P: *Walks with him and gets a paniked look.* Don't say that. they'll hear.
So? *Stops and looks at him.* DOn't oyu think this is wrong?
P: No. its how its awalys been.
*Spits into grass, then remembers the hound and catches it.* Whatever. *Keeps walking.*
P: *Shakes head.* theat boy will get killed one day. *The hound walks by and the person freezes til it passes.*

*goes in and buys some food*

P: *Walks downthe street and sees a girl holding a book. Grows apprehensive.* she wouldn't. *The girl starts readinghte book.* OH no. *Looks at watch and hits the red button. an alarm goes off and helicoptors area heard in the distance.*
What is goign on. *Looks back ad sees them.* Oh no.

*hears the noise*

*Runs over and sees firemen showing up. one aims a flamethrower at the girl.* What are you doing?
G: Reading.
F: that's all I need to know. *Gets ready to burn her.*
*Runs on fornt of them and stands in fornt him.* stop. ou don't understand.
F: What?
She's... she's my cousin. she doesn't know.

Fireman, Scholar, Outside Force: Outside Force

If outside force, who: A soldier from Russia/USSR, but despises his own country, so he moved to the US

Bio: An ex-Red Army soldier. Hating the Soviet policy, he left Russia and moved to the United States in the middle of World War II. He abandoned the army, and is now wanted all over Russia.
He does not take any sides, and will help whoever needs it. No one knows much about his past, or what he does in the present.
He is a friendly man, but it will take a while to become a friend of his. Because of this outcast life, he will help anyone, but is not trusted by many. He has an abnormally keen sense of smell and sight, though he does not have working nerves, and cannot feel things. His hearing is average, and his eye site is slightly below average.

*walks up to a soldier that is slightly slouching*

*walks away and puts normal clothes on and climbs the ladder out of the tunnel*

Delian was standing in the shadows.
"I'm not sure if I like this country much better than Russia. Look at this. Pitiful. No reading? That is pathetic." he thinks.
Delian stands up and leaves the alleyway he was sitting in. But he goes out the other way, so the people don't see him.

*Goes over and takes the book fromt eh girl's hands. burns it ont he spot and the dogs leave, except one. the girls stares with wide eyes.* Why did you do that?!? *ytells at him.*

G: I knwo I'd still have my book.
GAH! waht are ou talkinga bout? UI just saved you. *people start to stare.* Lets go. *Grabs aher hand and marches opff with her.*

*walks around outside and sees a helicopter flying overhead* hmmm...
