Well, let me correct that fact you just said. When the seahorses mate, it is still the female that becomes pregnant at first. Soon after, though, she ejects the fertilized eggs and the male then sweeps them up into a special pouch-like organ in his belly. It is, however, the male that actually gives birth. He even experiences labor pains!
