What is wrong with most of the people participating in Rps here? It seems like after a while, people would learn how to do an Rp right. From what I've seen, it's just the opposite. A good number of people act like it's their first time Rping, when they've been doing it for a year or more. Where's the quality, where's the effort, where's the improvement?

A while back, Garret wanted me to change PMDS to an expert Rper only Rp. Why? Because he was fed up with the way some people act in these things. I can say it's gotten on my nerves from time to time too. If I may, I'll outline the crappy things that people do in these that just bring the whole Rp to crap.

I see this one often, in at least 10 different people through out T&C. Who knows, it could be a LOT more. People post something like this:

*Jeff is walking around, bored*

Oh whoopdefrickindoo. How the hell does that post contribute to anything other than the post count? At least have them do something productive that might alter the story path a little. Is it so hard to take a few extra minutes and elaborate on that? You could have easily described the setting around the character, what was happening to the character, and what events surround that character.

Only thing that gets on my nerves more than that is people CONSTANTLY doing it, even when they've been on for hours.

*Jeff is sitting down and looks around*
*Jeff is sitting down and looks around*
*Jeff gets up and looks around*
*Jeff walks, yawns, and looks around*
*Jeff sits down and looks around*

This goes on for post after post after post after post after...!!!




Another annoying thing is this remote control that people put on other characters. Can you not just stick to your own and leave it that way? Say your character is called Jeff, and the other character is called Lisa. You post something like *Lisa sees papers on the floor*. One question, why the hell did you just use the other person's character as your own? It's called remote control, and if someone really wanted to, they could eff you over for that by using the Rp rules.

3. No 'remote control' of the characters. In other words, you cannot exert any control over any other member's character without their consent.

It's so much easier to just say *There are papers blowing across the floor at Lisa's feet, rustling lightly in the wind*. If you've been in an Rp for at least 5 months, and you're still doing this, you sir, are phail.

Last, but certainly not least, is the god modding crap. Really, must you be invincanble in these Rps? Must you be the guy with the biggest balls? Must you be able to avoid every attack, but make every attack hit? Let me show you what I mean. Thanks to Garret for the example.

Person 1: *Esp comes down on Umb and hits him in the head, instantly killing him*
Person 2: *The substitution fades*
Person 1: Esp does it in such a way that even if it were a substitution, Umb would still die from the attack*

What about quality of the post?

Some people just refuse to put any quality into their posts. They make it short, and unproductive. That's one of the main reasons we added a rule to the PMDS Rp, just never enforced it.

No posts should be made that contain less than 50 characters. Seeing as this is a guideline, it will not be enforced as much as a rule would be. The only reason this would be considered a rule and get a post deleted would be if the post only contained one, unproductive word. ~Added February 3rd, 2010
