This is the reason I format my stories the way I do. I don't plan for anything other than a beginning and end. I give myself a starting point with a few long posts, and then build off of that. Being as I don't have a mid point in mind, people are free to participate, or to not participate in my stories. It's never too late to join in on anything.

Lisa, my sister has gone there too.... probably how she can kick my @ss up and down a street all day.

Red? No....While it IS a warm color like orange and yellow, I'd say blue compliments orange better. After all, orange and blue are opposites on the color wheel. However, it would take a bit of thinking to put a bit of blue in that banner without it looking like it was sudden and carelessly put there. The style of the entire thing may need to be changed completely before doing so.

It depends on what the artist is aiming for, after all. If he/she/it wants his creation to stand out, warm colors would be most fitting. Likewise, if the artist wants his creation to try not to stand out but blend in, cool colors(violet, green, blue) would be more fitting.
Of course, like I said earlier, compliments also work well.

tl;dr: I know way too much about colors, but not enough about aesthetics.
