Hey DK, haven't seen ya in a while.

That's 'cuz I left the site.

2. No God-modding: no member of a Role Play may be immune to harm, or inflict damage on other members without their consent. Also, do not engage in a fight where the characters involved continuously dodge every attack; you need to take hits at least every now and then.

3. No 'remote control' of the characters. In other words, you cannot exert any control over any other member's character without their consent.

^Lets just get that out of the way before I even start this little educational minute. I want everyone to read over that and understand it completely first. Truth be told, they're almost never enforced because this is T&C; the relaxed part of the site. As long as you can simply Rp like you have a brain, you're good. For here, this is more of a guideline than a rule, a guideline I've always tried to follow to be the best Rper I could.

Now, what I'm getting at with this post is the matter of control and enforcement of your will over someone else's property. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this... because if I did, this post would be too long to even fit on SC. Most common example. Allow me to use Garret and Will as examples.

Garret: *Shade is walking through the forest*
Will: *Shade hears a noise*

Now class, can anyone tell me what went wrong there? Let me point it out. Will took power over Garret's character and forced an action upon him, thus breaking both aforementioned rules. He used Shade as his own character, breaking the remote control rule, and forced Shade to go through an action, no ifs ands or buts about it, thus breaking the God Modding rule. But Derek, you might say, how else are we suppose to get the point across to the other Rper. Well I'll tell you. It's something Garret and I learned about a long time ago called third party. You see, no one owns a third party, so they can do whatever they want with it and not worry about breaking rules. Now lets see what happens when third party is used, shall we?

Garret: *Shade is walking through the forest*
Will: *A noise echoes through the forest around Shade*

In this example, Will took control of a third party instead of Shade. The third party being the noise. No one owns the noise, so its impossible to break rules. In this way, you're giving the other Rper a choice about if they hear it or not, while presenting it to them in a very clear manner. To me, it looks like a better response when using third party. More descriptive, and longer. Now I must ask, why can't everyone use third party? Why must everyone take control over another person's character and just degrade the quality of an Rp? Ehh, my entire party was traded to me, so I have to get through Eterna Forest leveling them up as little as possible.

At least until you get the 2nd badge, then you can go up to lv 30 :D

Eterna Forest was hellish, though.

Look up "One step beyond" on youtube. Its a goodOdd song. its gets weird near the middle. ghost children (2:27) o_o thats what it sounds like. You'll see what i mean.
