Eigth Palaver

Well... this is a bit of an odd story. I asked a friend to close the idea thread an.. well... he was kinda new. So I had to reopen this. For all those curious, this would be the chat thread.

yeah pretty much that. Its hockey, mostly preseason, the point int he year where the draft is just getting on and everyones trying to build for a future, and right before you can sign free agents so everyone is waiting and watching to see whos available.

I'm more interested in the NFL Offseason and NBA Offseason, but I do keep up with a little hockey.

I like the playing part, not the "watching others play" part.

I dont like watching the NBA. Its always the same five or six teams that will win it all cause tehy have all the talent. There's rarely an upset like what happened in the NHL this season, and very rarely does the team picked to win actually win in the NHL.

the NFLs a bit more bareable, because you can get the upset (and mostly cause its fun watching tom brady get beat), but its pretty disgusting how much cheating can go on and the league realy doesnt do much about. what with Bill belocheck or however you spell his name cheating his way to a superbowl, the most recent putting a bounty on players, and then all the criminals (i.e. the ravens cause I think its a prerequisite you be a criminal to play for the team). Plus the overwhelming sense of entitlement they have.

And of course neither matches the speed and skill of hockey. basketballs a pretty boring game when you really watch it, and footballs really slow when yuo think about it, cause likes nine minutes of actual play and the rest is just getting set up, counting down, and decidng where to throw. the constant breaks take out some of the pace.

What, its true. I have to say, hockey and lacrosse have spoiled me, I just cant stand to watch any other sport.

and AK youd probably like hockey then. unless you play a team that plays the trap (*cough*Tampabaylighting*cough*) its a fast paced game.
