Any kind of ideas work.

The tunnels Stardust Ben, Grace and Jewel fell in were once used by the tribes.

The most of the Tribes used to live in and around where Treasure town is.

Most of the tribes have disappeared but everyone once in awhile. For example the pink Snivy is the daughter of one of the tribe's leaders and one of the few of her tribe left.

Melody is also from a tribe or clan though that tribe had almost forgotten its roots and only a few of their ways have survived.
