cubes can't roll efficiently therefore are unable to get anywhere quickly. also cubes always apply to boredom as pyramids always apply to hardworking and balls to sunshine

Actually, that's a ball. You can look at a cube at the right angle (At many angles in fact) and see it's not symmetrical. It's sides and vertices are equal though. So a cube represents equality more than perfection.
