*Derek sits by the cave entrance, thinking to himself for the better part of the morning as he listens to Shadow cry. A look of sorrow has made its way onto his face. Looking back into the dark cave, he tries to catch a glimpse of her but can't make out anything in the inky black darkness of the cave. Large drops of water are falling on his head from the mouth of the cave*
Derek-" This girl is crazy... why me. I really hate to see her sad but...."
*He sighs heavily and gets to his feet. With on final look over his shoulder at the cave, he turns to walk away from it, trying to get the sound of her cries out of his head*

*Derek keeps walking until he bumps into Sam. She's sitting in the middle of an old dirt road, sleeping with her eyes open. Derek waves his wing in front of her face, seeing if she's even alive*

*Derek slowly approaches the bush, fearful of what could be hiding inside. Spreading the bush apart with his head, he looks in. There's a loud snap and Derek jumps a little from the shock. By this time, Sam is laughing her butt off. Derek lifts his head out of the bush, revealing a mouse trap that has snapped onto the feathers atop his head. Giving Sam a cold glare, he tries to get it off but can't*

*Derek runs right by Silver's head. As soon as he does, the mouse trap catches on a small rock on the ground and jerks his head back. He keeps struggling to get free but just ends up ripping his feathers off faster. Tears come to his eyes from the pain*
