be on every other block
a familiar Presences glides to
the same beat of your heart
strides-
youve been followed for the
past five minutes or so

The darkness is darker than
dark; you was surprised the
presence never got left you alone
like a dog seeking a master
the Presence took turns rolling
behind you
as well as next to you
but it never went ahead

any other day, you would
have been annoyed and told
the presence to "F*** O**!"
while running away-
that's ironic
today you was running away to
flee your troubles at home
your duffel bag with a bloody
knife lays thier sticking
out. your heart started to get heavy
already
but you was doing fine until
that presence showed up

on impulse you stopped and the
the Presence stopped as well
you nearly touched the it
but thought twice
the the darkness was getting
darker as the night was
getting longer sending the day to a far away
corner
a street light flashed out but you
was barely able to make out a
figure
the presence never moved from its
spot

you started to walk backwards
keeping your eye on the figure
even though it never moved an inch
you couldn't tell if the presence
was looking at you from its spot.
or was it lookin at you
the heavyness of this sight blocked
all you knew was the trace of
temptation to investigate was
replaced by a gut reaction to
return home
that flash of heat that shot down
you chest towards you inner thighs
earlier turned cold

suddenly the problems at home became
more trivial as you retraced your steps
back to your safe haven
the figure remained in it's spot and you
wondered if it would find you again
should you decide a week's punishment
was too much to bear
